Newsletter 01 – Autumn Term 2006

Dear Parents

Welcome back after the Summer break. A particularly warm welcome to our new parents and pupils. Diamond Class pupils have settled in really well in their first few days and are already providing lots of new ‘character’ to the school. Please do not hesitate to speak to Miss Pritchard or myself if you have any concerns. Last years’ Year 6 have moved on to their new schools and are hopefully building on their excellent results achieved at the end of Key Stage 2, we wish them well.

Forthcoming dates

A list of dates for the term is enclosed with this letter and other events will be notified as they arise. We are hoping to have another whole school visit to the theatre around Christmas, so more news later.

Hot School Meals

Thank you to those of you who have signed up for the trial “Wednesday’s – hot lunch”. We are hoping that this will be a success and that we can expand to other days in the future. If you require further details please contact the school office. This will be available to Reception children after the half term break.

Music Tuition

Mrs Adele Kirby is now offering Piano and recorder private tuition within or outside of our school day. If you are interested would you please contact the school office or Adele on Telephone number: 01963 370381.

Drum, guitar and violin tuition will recommence shortly. We need more pupils to sign up for violin tuition, so please see me if you are interested.

After School Clubs

The programme for After School Clubs has been sent out and activities will begin week commencing 11^th September. Some clubs may be subject to change due to lack of support, but you will be notified.

Uniform

If you have any unwanted school uniform that is in good condition, would you please bring in to school, so that we can ‘re-cycle’ it to other families.

Friends of Abbas & Templecombe

We would like to have an initial meeting of the Friends of Abbas & Templecombe (PTA) on Monday 18^th September at 3.00pm. Please come to join this worthwhile fund raising group. We would like to welcome some new members.
