Dear Parents/Guardians

Thank you to all who attended and helped at the Christmas Bazaar on Friday last week.  It was another great success for the Friends of Abbas & Templecombe due to your kindness, cakes, prizes donations etc.  I know that the Friends will put the money to excellent use for all of the children.  The total raised was £650.  If you didn’t have a chance to purchase your child’s individually designed Christmas Cards, please call at the school office.

Celebration of Achievement Day

As promised we are having a Celebration of Achievement Day on Friday 1st December.  Children will attend as usual in school uniform, but there will be a different focus for the day.  All of the children will be grouped ‘across the school (vertically) so that there is a mixture of each age group in each class and there will be a series of activities including: -

African dance  - by Fatou Taylor

Collage

Karaoke

Biscuit/Cake decorating

Origami

There will also be a visit from ‘Bryan the Magician’ for a magic show and David Taylor, Director of Children’s Services for Somerset who will attend our ‘Praise Assembly’ which recognises the children’s achievements.  David will also present our Basic Skills Award.

It promises to be a really lovely day.

Diocese Inspection

As a Church of England school we are due our Diocese Inspection on Wednesday 6th December.  Mr Andrew Rickett, Inspector will be in the school from 8.00am to 4.00pm, therefore he would very much like to meet with parents as well as children, staff and Governors to discuss our provision for Religious Education and Collective worship.  Please come forward if you would like to speak to him about this aspect of your child’s education.

Swimming

Emerald Class will have their last ‘swim’ of the term on Wednesday 29th November due to other commitments at the sport centre.  Lessons will resume after the Christmas break.
