NEWSLETTER AUTUMN 08 – 2006

                                                                                                            12th December 2006

Dear Parents/Guardians

A few reminders in this very busy run up to Christmas.

Firstly all tickets for the Nativity have now been distributed therefore, please see Mrs Cutler in the school office if you have not yet received them.

Performances are on Wednesday 13th December at 2.00pm and Thursday 14th December at 6.30pm. Children should arrive at school for the evening performance no earlier than 6.00pm and no later than 6.15pm.

Sponsored Singing - Friday 15th December

Pupils will take part in a ‘Sponsored Sing’ from 1.15-3.15pm  Funds raised will provide clean drinking water for people in less economically developed countries.  Please send in your sponsorship form and any monies collected by the end of term.  Thank you.

Christmas Parties

On Monday 18th December we are having our Christmas party.  The children will eat ‘party food’ on the day therefore they do not require a packed lunch.  A member of the Friends will approach you shortly to ask you to contribute food on the day.  If your child has a specific allergy please send in specific items, clearly labelled.  Children can come to school wearing party outfits, but please make sure that they are warm (with a coat) and that footwear is suitable for the playground.  School will end at 3.30pm as normal.

Pantomime Visit Tuesday 19th December

We will have lunch as normal on Tuesday 19th December and then leave school at 1.30pm to reach The Octagon for the afternoon performance (travelling by South West Coaches).  We will be back at school by 5.00pm, so please collect your child from school at this time.  (Forgive us if we are late, as the traffic can sometimes be heavy at this time of day).

Children do not need spending money as ice creams have been pre-ordered.  Many thanks to the Friends for supporting this event.  A Consent form must be signed and returned to give your permission for this event.

Church Inspection

Our Church inspection went very well.  Many thanks to all who took the time to speak to the Inspector.  The report will be available in the New Year.

End of Term Carol Service – Wednesday 20th December

The service will be at 1.45pm at St Mary’s Church.  Please join us for our Christmas Carol Service.  All are welcome.  Children can be taken home from school after the Service (return to school first).

School re-opens on Thursday 4th January 2007 (following a teacher training day on Wednesday 3rd January).

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and joyful New Year from all of the staff and Governors at the school.

Looking forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Please contact me if you have any queries or concerns about your child’s education and well being.

Yours sincerely
