NEWSLETTER SPRING 01 – 2007
5TH January 2007
Dear Parents/Guardians
Welcome back to school for the Spring Term. I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas break and thank you for sending the children back looking so ‘rested’.
Once again a very big thank you to you all for your support last term and for the wonderful cards and gifts to myself and all of the staff. You are very generous and such thoughtfulness is very much appreciated.
At the end of this letter I have included a list of dates to take us to the end of the Spring Term and Easter. Obviously if any other events or activities arise I will notify you in advance.
Thanks to the ‘Friends’ for heavily subsidising the pantomime trip, which the children thoroughly enjoyed and for their continuing fund raising activities. We are lucky that we have a “thriving”, energetic group of committee members and we thank them whole-heartedly.
Reflective Jackets
I approached a white lining company before Christmas to ask about a donation to buy some reflective jackets for our children to give them added visibility on their way to and from school. Mr Ralph Clark of Quality Marking Services Ltd in Devon kindly provided us with enough jackets for all Key Stage 1 children. Would you please write your child’s name on the label and if you will not use it, please return so that one of the older children can make use of it. Our uniform supplier also sell these jackets for £4.25, therefore please order through the school office. It will be a really useful garment. Our thanks to Ralph for his support.
Diocese Inspection
The final report from the Diocese Inspection is also attached for your information. Once again we were very pleased with this result and also the fact that we ranked in the top 100 schools nationally again this year.
Holiday in Term Time
Early next week we will be issuing the new advice to parents regarding holidays in term time. Please let me know if you have any queries about the information. It is very useful in identifying what constitutes “exceptional circumstances”.
After School Activities
The new programme of After School Club Activities will be available early next week and clubs will begin week commencing 15th January. Please return requests as soon as possible.
Looking forward to a busy term ahead. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information about the content of this letter or any aspect of your child’s education.
Yours sincerely
Bernie Green
