27th March 2006
With the end of term fast approaching, I would like to mention one or two of the events due to take place this week and early in the Summer Term.
Parenting Course – Tuesday 28th March
This very valuable course will take place tomorrow from 10.00am to 1.00pm. Please do your best to attend, it is suitable for all parents and will cover many aspects of children’s physical and emotional needs.
Parents’ Evening – Tuesday & Wednesday 28th/29th
March
Tuesday 4.00pm – 6.00pm Wednesday 6.00pm – 8.00pm
If you haven’t received confirmation of your appointment time, please contact the school office. Parents’ evenings provide a further opportunity for parents to fully understand how their child is performing against age related national expectations, whilst also helping understand how they can support their child’s learning at home.
A short evaluation sheet will be available on the evenings if you wish to comment. This will provide us with invaluable feedback to help us to improve the process in the future.
Unfortunately I have to attend a Consultant’s conference in London on Tuesday therefore I will not be back before 6.00pm, but please let me know if you wish to discuss something as I am available the rest of the week.
The Educational Consultancy work I am engaged in brings in a significant amount of extra funding to supplement the regular school budget for the good of all pupils, by providing extra resources. If you would like further details about this arrangement please ask and I will be happy to explain further.
We need one or two more helpers for the Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday 30th March. It will only mean giving up a couple of hours on Thursday afternoon, so please see Mrs Sherry if you can help.
We are delighted to congratulate Caroline Sherry & Sharon Moorse, who have both successfully passed their Higher Level Teaching Assistant award. We are very proud that their contributions to pupil achievement is now fully recognised.
Our thanks to Tara Reynold Hart who has been working with Ruby Class this term. She returns to Taunton for a few weeks and we look forward to her return in the latter part of the Summer Term. We welcome Kirsten Inglefield who will be working with Sapphire Class after Easter.
Our Easter Service will take place on Friday 31st March at 1.45 in St Mary’s Church. Please join us for this lovely end of term service. Mr Michael Denton, a parishioner has kindly agreed to provide our Easter address, in the absence of a Rector. At the end of the service parents may collect their children from school.
School re-opens on Tuesday 18th April for the start of the Summer Term. After school clubs will be running from the second week of term. Would you please ensure your child returns with full uniform and named PE Kit.
During the early part of the Summer Term we will be holding our annual Charity fund raising event. This year we have decided to support St Margaret’s Hospice in Yeovil. Further details next term.
All that remains is to wish you a very happy and Holy Easter from everyone at the school. Thank you once again for supporting us in our efforts to provide the best care and education for all pupils.
We look forward to our continuing “partnership” in the Summer Term.
Yours sincerely
Bernie Green
