NEWSLETTER SPRING 05 – 2007
23rd March2007
Dear Parents/Guardians
Red Nose Day
Thank you for your generous contributions to the Red Nose Day Collection. We raised £159. Well done to Katie New and Jessica Wake (and invaluable mums of course) for making and selling cakes which raised an amazing £52. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
Student Teachers
We continue to benefit from the support of Mrs Anna Montague, student teacher who has been working in Emerald and Ruby class and welcome a new student teacher Tom Briggs next term. I am really beginning to feel old now, because I taught Tom myself when he was younger! Next term Anna will be working in Sapphire Class and Tim will be in Topaz Class. I am confident they will continue to benefit the pupils and the school as a whole.
A Midsummer Nights Dream
This Shakespeare play was very well received by Years 4,5 and 6. The pupils who went to the Octagon Theatre on Wednesday clearly enjoyed the performance and now have a positive attitude to future studies involving Shakespeare.
Friends
Thanks to the ‘Friends’ who continue to do a great job with their fund raising and social activities. I am sure the family disco will be very successful. We have a really dynamic group this year who are constantly working for all of the pupils.
Easter Egg Hunt
29th March pm: For new parents, this is a lovely afternoon activity organised by the Friends, whereby children hunt for Easter Eggs. The children do not eat them at school, therefore you can decide when and if appropriate.
End of Term Assembly
Please join us for our Easter Assembly at St Mary’s on Friday 30th March at 1.45pm. As always children can be collected from school after the assembly, but do not worry if you cannot attend, as school will continue until 3.30pm. Don’t forget the children’s (and yours if you wish) Easter bonnet for the Parade.
Musical Extravaganza
We are holding the Musical Extravaganza on Monday 26th 1.45 – 3.15pm and Tuesday 27th 5.30 – 7pm next week. If your child is performing you will need to ensure your child is here on Tuesday evening by 5.15pm and that you collect your child at the end of the performance at 7pm.
Wishing you a very peaceful Easter.
Yours sincerely
Bernie Green
