NEWSLETTER SUMMER 03 – 2007
Dear Parents
I hope you all had an enjoyable half term break, despite the wet weather for some of the week. The children have settled straight back in and are busy with the variety of activities planned for the second part of the Summer Term. A list of important diary dates is attached and you will note there is a lot to ‘pack in’ prior to the end of the school year.
Badminton Sessions
Sapphire Class will be receiving badminton coaching for the next four weeks, therefore it is important that they have their PE kit in school on Thursdays.
Skipping for the British Heart Foundation
Our Charity fund raiser this year is for the British Heart Foundation and will be a skipping event on 27th June. More details to follow.
School Fete
The school fete will take place on Saturday 30th June as previously mentioned, therefore please contact the ‘Friends’ of the school if you can offer to help in any way and also – please pray for good weather! I am sure the event will be wonderful.
Swap a Class Day/Staffing
On the afternoon of Wednesday 4th July we will have our usual swap a class day, where pupils can start to think about the year ahead. New class arrangements will be sent out before this date. Our new Deputy Head teacher will be known at this point and will hopefully be able to join us for this day.
Also Mrs Jan Fellows who has been working with us on a temporary contract for the last two years will also be leaving this year, so her replacement will also be known by then. Jan would like to secure a permanent full time post, therefore we wish her every success and would like to thank her for her hard work and commitment to our school. If anyone would like to contribute to a gift for Jan would they please do so through the school office.
Changes in staffing is part of every effective schools’ life, therefore I have no doubt that the staff leaving will further develop their careers and that the new staff appointed will bring new skills and talents to enhance the provision for all of our pupils. Those of you who have been parents at the school for a long time will no doubt testify to this natural process of change.
More details about all of the events mentioned in the diary list as they approach.
If you wish to discuss any of the details in this newsletter further or if you have any queries relating to your child’s education please see me.
Yours sincerely
Bernie Green
