SUMMER
TERM NEWSLETTER 04 2005
Dear Parents
Non-Uniform Day
This Friday is a non-uniform day for the Summer Fete. In exchange for non-uniform pupils can bring a suitable item for the tom bola stall or a raffle prize - Chocolates, non-perishables, toiletries etc. Bottles can be left at the school office. Please support our main fund raising event by providing a suitable item.
Teacher Training Day - Monday
27th June
A reminder that the school will be closed on Monday 27th June for teacher training.
Arts Week
Pupils will be working in mixed age classes for some of next week in order to take part in a variety of Arts activities such as drama, drawing and painting, music, clay work etc. Could all children please bring an old shirt to wear during the activities to avoid ruining school uniform? They should have a lovely time leading up to their art exhibition on Friday 1st July. Please come to browse and buy your child’s artwork. Exhibition on from 2:00pm in the school hall. Refreshments available. (Could anyone help?)
Summer Fete -Saturday 2nd
July
We still need help on the morning of the Fete, from 11:00 ish to set up and also more volunteers needed for stalls. Please come forward!!!
Please start to sort and bring in you nearly new or white elephant goods. Books, plants, raffle prizes, basically anything we can sell on the day. Have you thought about which cake or cakes you are making?
Children’s Fancy Dress
There will be another Fancy Dress Parade at the Fete. The theme is Film Characters, which is open to lots of possibilities. Prizes for the best dressed. Please support the Fete in any way you can, as these events rely on your support.
Water Bottles
Please name your child’s water bottle, so that they can take them out at lunchtime. This is especially important in the hot weather.
Year 6 Residential
Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their residential to Hayling Island in Hampshire. I am sure you will join me in thanking Mrs Brettell and Mrs Sherry who joined the pupils and I. As you know I couldn’t take them without other staff and it is a very tiring few days being on duty 24 hours a day. Hopefully I will receive the same offers of help to take the pupils next year, as pupils love the chance to experience new activities such
as fencing, climbing and abseiling. Well done to the pupils too, as instructors at the Centre commented on how well behaved they were throughout their stay.
I will be sending a note to current year 5 pupils and parents to ask you to express an interest for next years trip, so that we can book and begin to phase the payment over a longer period.
Please feel free to discuss with me these and any other issues relating to your child’s education.
Yours sincerely
Bernie Green
