Newsletter 05 – Summer Term 2006

Dear Parents

As we draw towards the end of the school year a note to bring you up to date with events.

Disco

All the children enjoyed the school disco held on Thursday in honour of our Year 6 Leavers.  I am sure they were very tired when they arrived home.  Year 6 also had a lovely time at their Karaoke/BBQ.  We wish them luck and happiness in their new school.

School Profile

You may be aware that the Governors Annual Report to parents has now been replaced by the “School Profile” which gives a brief summary of school performance and development during the academic year.  It is available, as recommended on the following website:  schoolprofile.parentscentre.gov.uk/933/3105 . Please let me know if you do not have access to the internet and we will print a copy for you.  The National Test Data is for 2005, as 2006 results have not been published nationally yet.

End of Key Stage 2 results for our school for 2006 are:-

English   94%  Level 4 and above

            Mathematics     100%

            Science            100%

We are very pleased with the results and congratulate all of the children and staff for achieving such high standards.

Her Majesty’s Inspectorate Visit

The Inspector who visited the school to consider our delivery of “Sustainable Development” was very impressed and the outcome was very good.  If anyone wishes to read the inspectors report, a copy has been placed on the notice board near the kitchen.  Please see me if you have any queries about it.

End of Year Assembly

Please join us at St Mary’s for our end of year assembly on Tuesday 25th July at 1.45pm.  Sadly we will be saying goodbye to Tracey Ballard, as crossing patrol.  We thank Tracey for her hard work in keeping the children safe.

As yet, we have not found a replacement for Tracey, therefore please be advised that your children will need to have adult support to cross them over the road each day.

Mary Poppins

The production went really brilliantly, the DVD will be available mid September from the school.  Thanks to Mrs Sherry for recording it.

School Reopens

School reopens on the 4th September for children, as the 1st September is a teacher training day.

Thank you to all who have helped in school this year.

We wish you all a very pleasant summer break and look forward to seeing you in September.

Yours sincerely
