NEWSLETTER SUMMER 06– 2007
Dear Parents
Thanks to everyone who attended the Summer Fete on Saturday. We are very grateful to the ‘Friends of the School’, lead by Debbie Pitchforth, Lynda Downes and Sally Elvish who ensured that what could have been a damp ‘non starter’, was an amazing success. The amount raised, as pure profit, is rapidly reaching £900 with smaller amounts still to come.
All the Friends worked extremely hard before and during the day and we are very grateful to them as such funds will provide another theatre trip for the children at Christmas.
Also, thank you to all of the parents and staff who helped on stalls and help set up for the day. It is hard work and you did a tremendous job. We all had a lovely afternoon.
Ice creams will be sold at the first sign of good weather (if ever!) to use up the supply left over.
Raffle prizes winners: please collect your prizes from the school office.
Sports Day
The school field is still very water logged, therefore, Sports Day will not take place tomorrow. We cannot afford to take the risk that someone may fall on the slippery surface. We will review the situation on Wednesday to see if we can go ahead on Thursday (the reserve day).
Apologies if you have taken time off work for the event, but we are really in a difficult position with the weather this year. Notification will be sent out on Wednesday to confirm whether we will go ahead on Thursday.
Swap a Class Afternoon
All classes will ‘swap on the afternoon of 4th July so that pupils can become familiar with their new teacher for September. Mr Higgins is unable to come, but Mr Briggs will be here.
