The School
The school was founded in 1870, moved to its present site in 1896 and was extended to its present size in 1988. The school building consists of:
  • 5 large classrooms (which each have a quiet activity area and an art area)
  • a large hall which is fully equipped as a gymnasium
  • a well equipped kitchen for cookery sessions
  • a large and well stocked library
  • a newly installed computer suite
  • facilities for the disabled
  • an attractive staff room and office facilities.

In the attractive rural grounds we are fortunate to have two hard play areas, a wonderful garden and environmental area, a specialist play area for early years and a large sports field.

We had an Ofsted Inspection in November 2006. We were thrilled to receive "Outstanding" as our judgement. Our full report can be viewed on the Ofsted web site, details of which can be found on the 'Links' page.

There are currently about 120 children on role and are organised in five classes which are named after precious gem stones.

  • DIAMOND CLASS is taught by Miss Pritchard - Reception (20 children).
  • EMERALD CLASS is taught by Mrs Laurie - Years 1 and 2 (27 children).
  • RUBY CLASS is taught by Mr Briggs- Year 3 and Year 4 (23 children).
  • SAPPHIRE CLASS is taught by Mrs Fellows - Year 4 and Year 5 (25 children).
